About Toolery
Toolery is a free, no-frills collection of online utilities for developers, sysadmins and anyone who works with text, data or networks. Every tool is small, focused, and free to use without an account.
The idea
Most of us already have a tab open with a Base64 decoder, a JWT viewer, a JSON formatter or a DNS checker. Those tools exist a hundred times over — but many of them quietly upload everything you paste to a server, run a wall of ads above the actual interface, or push you toward a sign-up. Toolery is the opposite: text and data utilities run entirely in your browser and never see your input, the UI is small and quiet, and there is no account to make.
What is here
The current set covers everyday jobs: encoding and hashing, inspecting JWTs and JSON, testing regular expressions, comparing text, reading CSV files and analysing email headers — all client-side. A handful of server-backed network tools (DNS lookups, DNS propagation, an open-port checker) handle things a browser cannot do on its own. New tools are added when something useful is missing.
About this site
Toolery is operated as a personal project, hosted on a small VPS behind Cloudflare. There are no investors, no analytics partnerships and no data resold. Display advertising is the only commercial element on the site — see the Privacy Policy for details.
Security & abuse reporting
Like every site on the public internet, Toolery gets constant background noise from credential-stuffing scripts, vulnerability probes and supply-chain hijack attempts. We actively defend against this — and we contribute the addresses we observe attacking us to AbuseIPDB, an industry threat-intelligence database, so other operators can defend themselves from the same sources. We also consume their list to block known-bad IPs before they reach our origin.
